You're What?

Chapter Two - What Now?

CHAPTER TWO

What Now?

ONCE THE SHOCK settles, the next question hits:

“Okay… what now?”

You’ve taken the test.
You’ve blinked at those lines.
You’ve told someone (maybe).
Now you’re sitting with one massive truth.

You’re pregnant.
And that comes with a fork in the road.

Let’s talk about what those paths actually look like, without judgment.
Just truth.

Option 1: Parenting

Maybe this feels right to you.
Maybe it doesn’t.
But if you’re considering keeping and raising the baby, here’s what to know.

The pros:
You get to be part of every moment. The first kick, the first cry, and the first word.
You build a bond with a whole human who wouldn’t exist without you.
It can be deeply fulfilling (and life-changing in the best way).

The realities:
It’s hard.
It costs money. (We’ll break that down later.)
It changes your identity, your time, your sleep schedule, and your entire life.
It requires support, even if you’re determined to do it solo.

But people do it.
People thrive doing it.
And if this path feels right to you, we’ll walk you through what to expect, how to prepare, and how to still be you while becoming someone’s everything.

Option 2: Adoption

This isn’t talked about enough, and it should be.
Adoption is a real, powerful, and sometimes deeply emotional choice.

The pros:
You’re giving a child a chance at life while choosing what’s best for your situation.
You stay in control of the process.
You can decide how involved (or not) you want to be afterward. There are different types of adoption, from open to closed.

The realities:
It’s emotional, no sugarcoating it.
People might not understand your choice, but that doesn’t make it wrong.
You’ll need counseling, support, and time to heal.

Adoption isn’t giving up.
It’s a conscious, complex choice made from a place of deep care.
And it is an option.

Option 3: Abortion

This one’s complicated, and not because of you.
Because of the world. The laws. The opinions. The noise.

Here’s what we’ll say.

You are allowed to consider this.
You are allowed to make a choice.
You are allowed to prioritize your body, life, and circumstances.

It’s not easy.
It’s not simple.
But for many, it’s the right call. And that’s real.

You don’t have to decide today.
But it’s important to know that this is on the table.
And it’s your table.

This isn’t a quiz. There’s no right answer.

There’s just your answer.
And whatever you choose?

This book’s still for you.
We’re still walking with you.
You’re still supported.

The hardest part of this moment isn’t deciding.
It’s believing you’re allowed to make a decision.

So if you need time?
Take it.

You don’t have to have it all figured out by lunch.
You’re already doing something brave by reading this far.

Take a breath.
Ask your questions.
Trust your gut.
And remember, this is your life.
You get to shape it.
