Rise of the Algorithms


AT FIRST, PORN was something you searched for.

You typed in a keyword. You clicked a video. You chose what you wanted.
You were in control, or at least it felt that way.

Then came the algorithms.

At some point, the tube sites stopped acting like search engines and started acting like dealers. You didn’t have to know what you wanted anymore. The homepage knew for you.

Trending. Recommended. Popular near you.
Auto-play. Suggested clips. “If you liked that, try this.”
Every video became a data point. Every click was a vote.
And within a few sessions the algorithm had you mapped.

It didn’t care what you thought you were into.
It only cared what kept you watching.

And that’s when things started getting weird.

You’d open the site and get hit with content you didn’t ask for.
Some of it made you uncomfortable. Some of it shocked you. Some of it turned you on, and that alone made you feel even worse.

That’s the trick. The algorithm doesn’t have morals.
It’s not trying to protect you. It’s trying to hook you.

It knows the average session length. It knows when people bounce. It knows what keeps eyes glued to the screen at 2 a.m.
And it feeds you whatever hits hardest, whether you want it or not.

Sometimes it escalates slowly. Sometimes it jumps ahead.
But over time, it rewires what arouses you.
Not by asking, but by repeating.

That’s how kink inflation happens.
That’s how categories get more extreme.
That’s how people end up watching things they never would’ve searched for two years ago.

Not because they changed.
Because the algorithm led them there.

And what’s even scarier is that it works.
It’s efficient. It’s ruthless. It’s optimized for addiction.

Most people still think they’re in the driver’s seat.
They’re not.

The site’s feeding them what’s next before they even finish what’s now.
And the more they watch, the more the machine learns.

This isn’t porn anymore.
It’s personalization.

And the product is you.
