CHAPTER ONE

Welcome to Moonscar Island

MOST KIDS REMEMBER Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island as the one that finally wasn’t fake. For decades, the gang unmasked crooks in costumes. But this time? The monsters didn’t peel off a rubber mask. The undead rose from the swamp.

That alone was seismic. But beneath the animation was something deeper, a metaphor for spiritual death, colonization, and resurrection.

Moonscar Island was haunted by more than zombies. It was haunted by history. The settlers that drove the island’s natives away? The pirates that plundered it? The dark magic that kept it all alive? All reflections of real-world cycles: greed, violence, and karma.

Daphne was on her own path of rediscovery. Fred was jealous. Shaggy and Scooby just wanted to eat. Velma wanted logic. None of that mattered on Moonscar. Everyone was forced to confront truth:
Some mysteries aren’t meant to be solved. Some are meant to be felt.

The twist? The cat creatures, the actual monsters, weren’t evil. They were desperate. Victims of injustice, cursed by survival, and stuck in a half-life.
Sound familiar?

Moonscar Island wasn’t fiction. It was a mirror. It showed what happens when pain festers and truth is buried. That’s why Zombie Island stuck with us.
Because for once, the monsters were real.
