TRUST FALL THEORY

Chapter Nine - When Trust is Broken (And You Still Want to Stay)

Section 10 of 11

CHAPTER NINE

When Trust is Broken (And You Still Want to Stay)

TRUST BREAKS.
IT
happens.

Sometimes because of a mistake.
Sometimes because of fear.
Sometimes because someone flinched when you needed them most.

But the question isn’t “Can trust break?”
It’s:

“Can it be rebuilt?”

And the answer is: yes.
But only if both people are willing to rebuild it honestly.

Rebuilding trust isn’t about saying “it’s fine.”
It’s not about sweeping it under the rug.
It’s not about pretending the fall didn’t happen.

It’s about owning the break.
It’s about saying:

  • “That hurt.”
  • “I flinched.”
  • “But I want to stay. I want to try again.”

Because trust doesn’t have to be perfect.
It just has to be chosen.

Over and over and over again.

The people worth keeping?
They’ll meet you in that rebuild.
Not with shame.
Not with defensiveness.

But with open hands.
Steady breath.
And the quiet words:

“I won’t drop you this time.”
