The Alternate Timeline

THERE’S A VERSION of this world, somewhere off-screen, where me and her figured it out.

We took it slow.
She healed.
I healed.
We got coffee, laughed too much, and I never had to write this book.

In that timeline, maybe we live together.
Maybe she still snorts when she laughs.
Maybe we still say the dumbest shit possible and it somehow feels like poetry.

But here, in this timeline?

We met too soon.
Loved too fast.
And let go too quietly.

And I’m not bitter about that.

Because some loves are meant to teach you how deep you go.
Not how long you can stay.
