IT DIDN’T BREAK all at once.
There was no explosion. No screaming. No “fuck you” text.
Just slow silence.
A missed call.
A shorter reply.
Plans that used to be automatic turning into maybe’s… and then into nothing at all.
I could feel it before I could name it.
And once you’ve felt real closeness, distance becomes deafening.
I knew she was seeing someone else before she told me.
I could feel it in her energy.
Not guilt, shame.
The kind that comes from letting something good go because you’re convinced you’ll ruin it anyway.
But I didn’t hate her.
I didn’t even get angry.
I just… mourned something that was still technically alive, but already gone.
