CHAPTER TEN

Jackass Forever – One Last Ride

THEY WEREN’T SUPPOSED to make it this far.

By all logic — medical, physical, spiritual — the Jackass crew should have called it quits a long time ago. But they didn’t. Because of course they didn’t. That’s never been their style.

So when Jackass Forever hit theaters in 2022, it wasn’t just another sequel. It was a miracle.

They were older. Slower. More fragile. Knoxville had grey hair. Steve-O was clean, Bam was absent, and Ryan was gone.

And yet, the stunts were just as insane.

They took hits that would send younger men to the ER. They still laughed through broken ribs. They still faced bulls, tasers, explosions — all of it. It felt like time hadn't passed at all.

But it had. And that made every moment more sacred.

Forever brought in new faces — Poopies, Zach, Jasper — a younger generation raised on Jackass. They were just as dumb, just as fearless, just as eager to impress the legends beside them.

It was a literal passing of the torch. And it felt right.

The dynamic didn’t feel forced. It felt like legacy. Like family extending the table and letting new maniacs pull up a seat.

Bam wasn’t in it. Not really.

His absence loomed heavy. Legal battles, relapses, lawsuits — all part of a heartbreaking reality that played out publicly. The crew said they tried. They wanted him there. But sometimes, love isn’t enough. Not yet.

Fans noticed. And even though Forever made us laugh, it also made us feel. The shadow of what once was lingered in every shot he wasn’t in.

There was never an official “This is the last one.” No dramatic curtain call. Because that’s not how Jackass works.

But Jackass Forever was a time capsule. It was them looking at the camera one more time and saying: You thought we’d quit?

It wasn’t about proving anything anymore. It was just about showing up. For each other. For us.

And in the end, they did what they always did — they made us laugh until we winced, and wince until we laughed.
