Red vs. Blue

PROLOGUE

YOU HEAR THESE words all the time.

Liberal. Conservative. Left. Right.
Like they mean something. Like they’re locked-in identities, carved into stone.
But if you scratch the surface even a little, it all starts to fall apart.

Liberals used to defend free speech. Now they cancel people.
Conservatives used to hate big corporations. Now they worship them.
Democrats used to be the party of the South. Now the South is Republican.
Republicans used to be anti-slavery. Now they’re, well, it’s complicated.

Nothing fits.
The uniforms don’t match the playbook.
The slogans are recycled.
The policies are scrambled.
And the teams? Half the people wearing the jersey don’t even know what the team stands for anymore.

And here’s the real kicker:
They never really did.

This book isn’t about policies.
It’s about labels.

It’s about how America split itself into two camps that don’t make sense anymore.
It’s about how we got here to this strange, rage-fueled, meme-soaked landscape where nobody can explain what they actually believe, but everyone’s ready to die on a hill for it.

It’s not that people are stupid.
It’s that the history is buried.

Because once you start digging, you realize:
These terms we throw around like footballs? They’re just branding.
And like all branding, they evolve. They mutate. They lie.

“Conservative” has meant pro-monarchy, anti-communist, pro-capitalist, anti-globalist, pro-Christian, anti-establishment, pro-business, and anti-woke… depending on what decade you’re looking at.

“Liberal” has meant anti-slavery, pro-freedom, pro-civil rights, pro-free markets, anti-war, pro-war, pro-censorship, and even somehow, neoliberal, which nobody can define but everyone seems to hate.

You get the point.

This book is here to clear the fog.
Not by telling you who’s right or wrong.
But by showing you how we even ended up with these teams in the first place.

Because if you don’t know the story, you’ll just keep shouting the slogans.

So let’s rewind.
Let’s break it down.
Let’s figure out what the hell a “conservative” actually is.
What a “liberal” actually is.
And how America built its entire political religion on two pillars that keep changing shape.

You don’t need to pick a side.

You just need to know how the game works.
