IMAGINATION
Chapter Twelve - What Happens When We Know?
Section 12 of 12
CHAPTER TWELVE
What Happens When We Know?
YOU CAN’T UNSEE it.
The gods.
The clocks.
The flags.
The banks.
The memories.
The maps.
The feeds.
The stories.
All of it imagined first.
Then believed.
Then enforced.
You weren’t born into a world.
You were born into a shared hallucination.
A system of invisible agreements.
A story so old, so familiar, and so normalized, you forgot it was a story.
Until now.
So what happens next?
Do you reject it all?
Walk into the woods and start over?
Maybe.
But even that’s a story.
Even that takes imagination.
Because there is no outside the dream.
You can’t leave it.
But you can wake up inside it.
Knowing doesn’t give you power.
It gives you clarity.
You see the world for what it is.
A construct.
A collage.
A game of pretend with very real consequences.
You still play.
But now you know it’s a play.
And that changes everything.
Because now you can choose what to believe.
Now you can rewrite the myths.
Now you can hold power accountable.
Now you can bend the story back toward something humane.
Or hilarious.
Or holy.
Whatever you want, because now you know it’s always been made up.
You’re not a character in the simulation.
You’re a co-author.
So go ahead.
Imagine something better.
That’s how everything started, anyway.
