CHAPTER NINETEEN

The TikTok Time Travelers

IT STARTS AS a joke.
A bored teenager in their bedroom posts:
“I’m from the year 2671. On June 3rd, the oceans will boil.”
It gets 400,000 likes.
Everyone laughs.

Then June 3rd rolls around, and the Gulf Stream stutters.
Just enough for people to say, “Wait... hold on.”

There’s a whole ecosystem now.
Accounts claiming to be from 2094, 3006, 4121.
They talk about floating cities, AI presidents, three moons in the sky.
Most of it is absurd.
But once in a while—

A celebrity death posted before it’s announced.
A scientific breakthrough mentioned weeks ahead of the news.
A sports upset no one saw coming.

A glitch in a TikTok dance background.
A reflection with the wrong skyline.
Someone speaking in a dialect that doesn’t exist.

Skeptics call it coincidence.
Or ARGs.
Or mass delusion.
And maybe it is.

Or maybe the rules are bending.
Maybe they’re not here to warn us—
Maybe they’re just bored.
Scrolling through their past like it’s a feed.

What if TikTok is the wormhole?
The filter that weakens reality just enough
for one signal to sneak through?
What if it’s not a platform—
but a window?

And what if the real time travelers
aren’t the ones posting—
but the ones watching
and believing
just long enough to change the future?

Maybe time doesn’t need machines.
Maybe it just needs views.
