CHAPTER THREE
The Typo That Wasn't There Yesterday
YOU WERE READING late last night, weren’t you?
Not this book.
Something else.
Online.
A forum, a post, maybe a page you don’t remember opening.
But you saw it.
Just one word.
Misspelled.
Not in a sloppy way.
In a wrong way.
Like the letters were misbehaving.
You refreshed the page.
It was gone.
But the word followed you.
You’ve seen it three times today.
On your phone. On a sign. On the back of a cereal box.
You still can’t say what the word was.
You just know it didn’t belong.
It looked back at you.
Some stories don’t need to be spoken.
They write themselves behind your thoughts.
They don’t need punctuation.
They don’t need permission.
They just need your attention.
And once they have it…
They begin editing you.
You’re going to check your notes app now.
Just to be sure.
But you won’t find the word.
