CHAPTER ONE Max Wants a Thing MAX WANTED ONE thing more than anything in the world. Not a phone. Not a pet iguana. Not even a trampoline (though that was second place). He wanted the Nacho Rocket. It was the most legendary skateboard on the planet. Shiny orange wheels. Neon-yellow grip tape. The whole thing shaped like a yellow corn triangle so it looked like you were riding a melted cheese-powered spaceship. It cost $79.99. Max had $2.16 and a coupon for free fries that expired in 2019. That was a problem. So Max decided: He was going to get a job.
