CHAPTER EIGHT
Resistance is Fuel
YOU THINK RESISTANCE means stop.
That feeling in your gut? That weight in your chest? That haze around your brain?
You’ve been taught to treat it like failure. Like something’s wrong. Like maybe you’re not cut out for this.
But here’s the truth:
Resistance is not the problem.
It’s the proof that you’re doing something real.
You don’t feel resistance to dumb tasks.
You feel it when the stakes are yours.
Writing the thing you actually care about.
Saying the thing that might change your relationship.
Starting the project you’ve thought about for years.
That’s when it shows up.
Not because you’re weak, but because you’re awake.
This is how the body protects you.
It slows down before risk.
It pulls back before exposure.
It second-guesses before transformation.
Not to sabotage you, but to make sure it’s real.
Because every time you act, you’re placing a bet:
On your energy.
On your direction.
On your identity.
And your body wants to know,
Is this another bullshit job I didn’t choose?
Or is this me reclaiming the wheel?
That’s what resistance is asking.
And when the answer is yes, this is mine, you can feel the resistance convert.
Not disappear.
Convert.
It stops dragging. It starts pushing.
Same pressure.
Different source.
Now it’s not trying to stop you.
It’s trying to launch you.
That’s what people miss.
They think freedom feels light.
It doesn’t. It feels dense.
It feels like responsibility.
Like tension.
Like focus.
You’re not supposed to feel chill when you’re claiming your life back.
You’re supposed to feel charged.
And that charge is resistance flipping polarity.
So don’t waste it.
Don’t wait for it to go away.
Use it.
Because the weight you feel right before doing the real thing?
That’s not a wall.
That’s a match.
Strike it.
